We’re sorry to hear that we don’t have any vacancies that match your profile at this time. We advise you to sign up for our JobAlert to stay up to date with the latest vacancies at VDL that are relevant to you. As soon as a suitable position opens up, our recruiters will get in touch with you.
I don’t have an engineering background. Are there still opportunities for me at VDL?
That depends on the job you are interested in. Every vacancy specifies the requirements for the job in question. For most staff positions you do not need an engineering background. Affinity with technology is of course desirable.

Yes, we will. Internship pay depends on what programme you are enrolled in and the duration of the internship with us.
We most definitely do. We offer several work-based learning programmes at secondary vocational and higher professional education level in various fields. During these programmes, you will be working at one of our accredited work-based learning companies and your tuition fees are paid by VDL.
There are various ways to meet and get to know us. Check our events calendar for events where you can meet us personally.
We are very committed to on-the-job learning, i.e. learning by doing! A practical approach, that’s what we like. If you were to need extra training or a course to be able to do your job even better, we can always look at the possibilities together. We will also be happy to help you move up in your career or help you if you want to transfer to another VDL company.
As VDL colleagues, we like to see each other not only at work, but also outside from the workplace! There are all kinds of activities in which you can take part. The staff association at your company, for example, organises regular outings. And VDL Groep organises (sports) activities for all group companies together, which are always a great opportunity to meet colleagues from other VDL companies. We organise two football tournaments for all group companies every year, as well as a tennis tournament and a weekend getaway for motorcycle enthusiasts. Especially for young professionals (aged up to 35), we organise Young VDL Employee (YVE) events, which range from learning-oriented events such as company tours and workshops to more informal activities such as business games or Friday afternoon drinks.
Last but not least, we organise a phenomenal annual staff party for thousands of colleagues at a large multi-room venue with performances by top Dutch artists.
The people at VDL are enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to the company and VDL Groep. They are hardworking and feel at home in the company’s informal, open, no-nonsense culture. There is little hierarchy and lines of communication are short, as you would expect at a family business. Our employees, ranging from passionate starters and experienced pros, take pride in their work in combination with appropriate modesty.
