With the continuously increasing complexity of (electric) vehicles the ability to test in a virtual environment is key to be efficient and flexible in a dynamic world. Where the electrification of vehicles and applications will be increasing in the near future, the possibility to predict battery behavior will be equally important during development. Together with our testing department the development of such a model will be based on physical data which comes straight out of our own battery lab. An opportunity for you as an automotive engineer to contribute to a real need. Interested? For our software defined systems department, we are looking for a TU/HTS graduate who wants to immerge him/herself in Battery tech to eventually be used in our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setup.
What will you be working on:
- Setup the existing DSPACE HIL Environment;
- Use Simcenter Prescan to create detailed virtual scenarios that the HIL setup will simulate, ensuring the virtual environment accurately reflects the physical conditions the Vehicle control systems will encounter;
- Conduct tests where the physical hardware interacts with the virtual environment created in Simcenter Prescan to validate the performance and reliability of the vehicle under different conditions;
- Create comprehensive documentation and provide training sessions for the team to adapt to the new integrated testing processes;
Graduation project deliverables:
- The integrated testing setup should accurately simulate real-world driving scenarios and environments;
- All vehicle systems must be validated under various conditions with a high degree of reliability using the virtual environment and the HIL setup;
- The team should be fully trained and able to use the new integrated testing setup without significant issues.
Who are we looking for?
- You are a TU/HBO student in the direction of Automotive and/or technology;
- You are proficient in relevant tools (e.g. Matlab);
- Have strong problem solving skills;
- High attention for detail;
- Able to work in a team environment;
- Speak English and Dutch (preferably).
What do we offer?
- We offer you a dynamic working environment with challenging problems that help you gain a good insight into the Automotive field
- There is a lot of room for personal input, personal development and entrepreneurship
- You are part of the international, industrial family business VDL Groep, where continuity is of paramount importance
- Laptop
- An internship allowance of €500 per month
