I started at VD Leegte Metaal in 2002 and in April 2008 a logistics employee was needed in shifts at VDL TIM Hapert. Because of my logistics background (15 years as a driver) I then transferred to VDL TIM Hapert. This process was arranged quickly; on Friday I still worked at VD Leegte Metaal and the following Monday at VDL TIM Hapert.
The position of Logistics Planner is challenging. You have to make sure that everything comes in and goes out just-in-time. That can sometimes be quite a job, but that is what makes it fun.
7.15am start - cup of coffee - check mail - check VBS - arrange (urgent) transports - help colleagues - check planning - have lunch - check mail - check stocks - update lists - cup of coffee with colleagues - check transports - contact with carriers - help colleagues - fill in hours - go home at 5.30pm
That no day is the same, there is always something new. For example, I recently started the Wheel Hub Project in our new building on the Diamantweg in Hapert. I also really enjoy the contact with all colleagues and the carriers we work with.
At VDL TIM Hapert, we process and assemble castings, forgings and welding assemblies. For example, we produce various truck parts and components for internal transport aids such as forklifts. We are also active in cylinder construction, particularly for container mounting systems.
