''The nice thing about being a recruiter at VDL is that you are responsible for several VDL companies. You get to know VDL extremely well and acquire a broad network. In 2022 I was ready for something new, a broadening of my function. I wanted to find that broadening within VDL, so I came into contact with Pim Hertogs of VDL ETG and started as an HR business partner. To this day I am extremely happy with the move. I have learned so much; personally I think this is the coolest job in VDL!

What do you like about your job?

I like the human aspect of my job. I like talking to people. I like to coach and supervise managers and employees and happy colleagues give me a good feeling. I find working with management and MT incredibly fun and challenging. That is next level communication. We get to invent and implement things and it is also very much appreciated. The things I have been allowed to do have made me much stronger. I notice that I never but never feel stress or nerves when I have to do something new. The opportunities you get at VDL ETG and the appreciation make it possible for you to grow and flourish.

Proud of our products and family feeling

I am also proud of the things we make! I proudly tell our new employees during onboarding what a great company we are. I am not at all technical, but being part of a company that contributes so much to the Brainport region of Eindhoven is fantastic! If you are thinking of applying for a job, I can give you one piece of advice: DO! Over the years I have really gotten a VDL heart. Even though we have a huge organization; I think you feel the family feeling everywhere. That is how I really experience it. A large family that is proud of VDL and proud of each other, a company where you can take on a lot within your job and beyond. This involves hard work, but that is rewarded with many activities to relax, such as drinks, Christmas dinners, sports activities, the VDL Festival, the Winter Efteling, etc.
